Opinions - E Boat badge 2nd pattern

I'm trying to decide if this E-boat badge is genuine and would welcome your opinions. It looks like a tombak badge but I thought that the 2nd pattern E-boat badges were only made in zink? These five are the only images available.

Agreed - this one is a fake.

It is possible (but not confirmed) that some 2nd patterns could have been made in tombak, and some 1st patterns in zinc. No one has yet found examples of either, but Schwerin operations (it had neither a PKZ nor an LDO number) can be a bit cloudy.

The perfectly aligned maker mark is all you need to see on this example to KNOW it is fake. Next comes close but no cigar Schwerin-like hardware.

Bottom line, nice looking but expensive fishing sinker.
