    Submarine clasp

I finally got the couple (Bronze and silver)!
Both are in zinc and very similar, colour apart.
    Same producer too!

These are nice and scarce items. Especially the Silver Grade. I was fortunate to acquire mine early, but the documents for the Silver grade was a hard one to find and is rarer than the clasp itself.

        Ciao, Franco!

Nice clasps. Regarding the producer comment: you will not find these made by anybody else but Schwerin!

        Cheers, Frank

Hei it's Francesco and not Franco!
I think I just registred myself few months earlier than you and I got the exclusivity for the nick name Frank!
Beside that joke, I have a question fo you:
given that the two badges look really identical, what was the poduction technique used to distinguish the two level.
I guess that they simply painted the two with different colours?!?

Exactly, Francesco, the difference is solamente in the finish.

I recently saw a new fake of the sub clasp. It was not like the old quality fakes that were made from a better medal then the originals and had the oversize hook and incorrect letters....this new fake was in a metal that looked like zinc!! and had the correct pin of course, but the pin was in brass complete with acid residue from aging...this fake I saw was very dangerous and convincing but I was unable to photograph it to compare with known originals....naturally it was not being sold as a fake..

My comments are : 'the bronze claps is not yours...'

Did these badges have the same pins and catches?
