        Dear Christian,

The big question is, what do you believe in when it comes to the Souval U-Boat Badge, the round letter logo or the edgy letter logo? Or both? For a round letter one, it is "textbook".

          Hi Frank,

not easy to say. Gordon published this one one his very good uboatwebsides as a good one.

What I never fully understand and maybe we can come to grips with this here in this thread:

-Souval U-Boat exists with both type of maker´s marks, round letters (as on your badge) and edgy letter logo. There are three dogmas regarding these two types of logos on the Souval U-Boat:

            1) round letter logo is the good one
            2) edgy letter logo is the good one
            3) both are ok

            Now for the big question:

The Souval GAB also comes with both types of logos, while there the general opinion is:

            1) edgy logo good, round logo bad

            What´s the deal here?

My belief is also that both logos are ok, but I also do think that when it comes to the GAB.

            Any comments?

            Cheers, Frank

Souval used both type lettering in their U-Boat badges during WWII.

                Dear Bill,

Sure, so they did on their PABs, but why is it common collector´s knowledge that we do not accept this for the Souval GAB that also uses both marks? In the case of teh GAB, round logo badges are declared fake. If that should hold any logic or explanation, it escapes me.

                  Dear Frank,

i know that RS also use this marker maker on the CCC for sure and i assume there is no logic in using the marker mark.

In my mind the Uboatbadge from RS is more seldom than the SB68 is. Are most of the collectors afraid of buying them because they think they are produced post war ?
