      Giorgio,

interesting badge.I do not think it is either Funcke & Brunninghaus or Foerster & Barth.
It looks like a zinc example of the Mayer/Schickle type of badge?

      Regards,Martin.

I have excluded Schickle because I have never seen a zinc pattern .
Speaking of Mayer zinc the eagle head and the retaining clip are rather different .
On the other hand the deck gun design is different from that you can see on the zinc badge mm L56 & segmented sw
        In short I am puzzled
        all the best

Interesting badge, possibly Mayer but for sure it is not an L/56 F&B.

The eagle looks like the one on the tombak Mayer not the zinc Mayer ( this gets confusing) but after rethinking this I think that this badge might be a Zimmermann L/52.

                  Hi Al
you can find c/o GMIC very intersting considerations on this badge

Hi dont have access to the GmIC sight but in my opinion I would go for Mayer with a different style of reverse set up. The reverse set up has traits of an L56 style or even K&Q. The only thing I can say about the front is that the gun looks more in line with a Zimmermann but it is not a Zimmermann. Is it possible that the pin has been replaced as where the pin meets the hinge it looks very clean with no signs of wear or discolouration? Maybe a sharing of parts?Have started to come across this style in zinc but with different reverses than this one, on a few occassion lately. Curious. All the best

This may be the same badge, recently on the e-stand in tombak, attributed to Mayer...

Well that is a Mayer, no doubt. Giorgio's badge is interesting, as are most of his badges, and as usual, difficult to identify but fun to discuss. John
