    UBoot badge to clean

    On the back 0f this tombak badge one can seesome spots probably due to a scotch tape .
    Is there anyone able to suggest in which way to clean it ?

      If it is tape residue, try "goo be gone" it works quite well without harming the badge..

              The 'goo be gone' is the name of the product. Other companies make similar products with different names. It is a citrus cleaning product that works very well at removing Scotch tape and other types of sticky, gummy, residue. Very user friendly (no nasty solvents) and won't harm the badge.

                I'd use a cotton ear bud dipped in lighter fluid in firm swipes, then once done swill the badge under the tap.

                  Lighter fluid is the same naptha used in dry cleaning. This is a good remedy. If it fails, I would next try carbon tetrachloride and then acetone.

                  Apply any cleaning chemicals sparingly, with a cotton swab and use the 'minimalist' system, working slowly, if there is a positive result.

                  Less is better, when it comes to cleaning anything.

                      Sorry it took a few days to get back to ya but!! a few others answered the goo be gone question...lol.. Let us know how it comes out and post some follow up pics too.. thanks.
