    High Seas Fleet Badge

I just received this badge that I bought off of E-stand. I don't remember if the seller had listed a makers mark, but on scanning the back with a lope I found what could be a mark. I have circled the area where it is located and then attempted to draw it freehand at the bottom of the picture. Can anyone identify this maker for me?? Thanks in advance for your help.

That would be the impression of the male die pattern which was to press the material deeply into the female die and increase detail. If you look at the front of the badge, you will see corresponding details which were finely cut into the female die and needed a boost to fill. the male die (reverse) detail needs to correspond closely to the female die for this type of pressing/forging.

        Km Badge

Looks like the French produced KM. badge type.

I also agree that some French KM Badges are original though they do sell for much less. ~Ed
