    Nicest deep pan ever

    Hi guys

This is one of the badges I picked up in Kassel. This big and thick GAB is one of those badges that hardly come by, but this time in Kassel I was super lucky to pick up a minty example for my own collection. I never ever had a deep pan in my hands before in this condition. No need to say that I'm very happy with this one!

              Hi Giel,

That is the nicest Deep Pan GAB I have ever seen. Very nice addition, one that we certainly don't run in to very often at all.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                  Hi Giel

                  Such a beautiful example. Congrats

I think because these do not show up so often, especially in this condition, I have had a really good look at yours. Just check out the crisp bayonet groove and the cross hatching on the base of the acorns, so perfect and detailed compared to some other designs.

I think this has definitely gone up in my list of favourite GABs.

                  cheers
                  Graeme

I hope the pillow crimp flak finally fell off that list then

Wow, that was some time ago Giel ... when you were young and naive, and being the kind collector that I was, I decided to let you take that great badge at a great price.. Now that you are an "old hand" and experienced, I would probably take it .

Back to the "deep pan", as I said yesterday the details are great, so I checked my badges to see what condition mine are in. Here is one that I have that is in good condition also, but looks to be a different type of finish, more a chrome.

                      Hope you like it

                      regards

                              Thanks Wim, Tom and Panzer

Design wise the eagle always looked a bit strange to me, but for me this is part of the appeal of this particular GAB.

Giel mentioned that these do not show up that often, and I agree, but it seemed harder to find the solid variant. Certainly for me it was anyway.

                              best regards
