    Hi Guys......

    ...... at this point I'm with Wim on this one. From the images, as visible on my montor, I like the patina and the appearance of the base metal(I think period looking zinc).

      I should have added to my post that the GAB shown really doesn't look right for a 1.31 (unknown maker # 14) for these reasons:
      1) the hinge is wrong
      2) the reverse on a 1.31 should be completely flat (no flash)
      3) metallurgically, it does not look right. Once you hold an original 1.31 in your hand, you appreciate the uniqueness of the finished metal. The badge shown doesn't seem to have that look. I'd need to hold it to be sure, but the scans don't convince me at all that this is a real 1.31. A cast of one maybe....
      The smart thing to do would be to return it.
