I picked up a nice Souval CCC in bronze lately. I think this piece is quite interesting for some reasons. First is, you can see how smooth the bridge sometimes is between wartime and postwar production. Even if you can´t say if this piece was postwar produced or assembled postwar from leftover stock, you can clearly see the marks where the original hardware was supposed to be placed.
Another interesting feature is the fact, that the backplate is missing. I´m pretty sure that on this particular piece, there was never one intended for the postwar market. It would be quite interesting to know how the Souval crimping tool eventually looked and how it worked.
