    Army Artillery badge

I have been in communications with a banner member here on the WA with an Army Art. badge that is on his web site.

I have never bought anything from Ken Anderson of the Treasure Bunker before and that all could change here and now.

He has the badge in question on his web site and here's the link http://www.treasurebunker.co.uk/PBSC...ItmID=11401186

I have tried to transfer the images but no luck on my part. They all appear to small for a good image to view.

It looks to be a late war and his description indicates it as a Hobacher. In some emails between Ken and myself he states that this is a controversial badge. I am just trying to decide if I want to pull the trigger on this one or wait for something not so controversial.

If anyone has seen this badge or is willing to check out their web site linked here and comment on it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Hobacher is NOT a controversial maker, nor is this a Hobacher. This is a fake

      Hi Nick,

I was told this was a non maker marked Hobacher, whilst I accept this might not be the case are you sure it is a copy , it came from a very good source?

        Kenny,
You are a forum sponsor/dealer and you relied on someone telling you this is a good badge? You don't do your own homework?

I would ask for better images on the VERY off chance it is a vienna design similar to what we thought the Linden was. But I suspect it is not. The base metal looks highly suspect and the details suck. Could be your photos though. But it is NOT a Hobacher.

          Here is a Hobacher

I agree with Nick here, not an original piece.

The one Nick posted is the one and only one variant one should be looking for with Hobacher!
                Kind regards,
                Giel

                  Thanks Giel,

It was not the owner of the badge who said it was a Hobacher, it was one of my customers who is generally very good with German badges , it is sometimes hard to ascertain the maker of a non maker marked badge especially when he was not sitting in front of his computer to be able to make a comparison.

I myself thought the badge had some Austrian characteristics, however as I said in my first post I agreed this was not a Hobacher.

I'll post some better pictures today as Nick suggested and hopefully the badge will have some of the characteristics of the Vienna design as Nick has suggested might be the case.

Sorry but this badge is a reproduction IMO. The base metal is wrong, details weak, and it doesn't match any known flak badges. The hardware is also awful.

                          Agree. Details are wrong.

Kenny, Thank you for taking the time to post the pictures for me and others of the Artillery Badge. In now way am I even close of knowing how to spot and good badge from a bad badge. That's why I am a member here to use the resources this forum and another forums provide for the knowledge in identifying right from wrong and also to seek the advise from those that know.

Looking at the photos on your web site, I liked what was in front of me but I needed to be 100% certain on what I wanted to buy. Sorry that it took a turn for the worst with this badge for you which was certainly never my intent. I just need that extra conformation before I made a bad decision.

Members of this thread, I also thank you for the comments on this badge.

                              Happy landings, Robert Karum.
