Two More PAB's - Any Ideas Re. Makers?

    Hi Everybody,

Following on from my PAB 25, I would very much appreciate your thoughts on these two - both unmarked, both silver.

You'll see that one of them has a crimped in hinge. The other, strangely, has a blob of metal, especially visible on the reverse, filling in the void between the arms of the swas.

Also, notice the diagonal striations on the obverse of the zinc PAB with the crimped hinge.

    Thanks for looking.

    All the best,
    Toby.

First one is easy. Its the seven wheel variant from an unknown maker.

Wow, I was quicker than Phil

Looks like a, so called, Zimmermann, late type to me. Also good.

Well, that didn't take long. Thanks Skip.

I think I'd better start checking the forum for threads on the 7 wheel PAB. That one had passed me by.

                  All the best,
                  Toby.

The first one is supposedly the carry on from the hollow cut out swaz type. I believe we have seen this solid type with the cutout as well. If my memory serves me right Phil noticed how the tool for cutting these out got worn or broken and then they stopped cutting the swaz out. Maybe yours was the one were it broke and they did a quick repair on it.
Very interesting. I´m sure Phil will comment in about 1 second.

                      Yep Skip is correct.

To be a little more precise the first one in fact is the second type of the cut-out swas 7 wheel PAB. Made IMO by another maker and they only exist as hollow and massive zinkers.

In the beginning they also featured the cutout swas but at a certain moment something in the die must have broken. On the badge Toby posted the marks of the devise to cut the swas are clearly visible but they didn't manage to to the job anymore.

The second badge is the last of the so called Zimmermann PAB's with a crimped in set-up.

                        Skip, Philippe,

                        Thanks for the spot-on replies.
