    Juncker secrets

    Hi guys,

It's been a while since I've found something new for the collection, but I thought taking this opportunity to post what I have found

As far as I know only one PAB and one other GAB of this form were ever shown online through small and bad pictures, so a verdict always stayed far far away.

Now a few days ago on the Gunzenhausen fair I was lucky finding one of these rare massive higher numbered Juncker badges and couldn't leave it on the table. It was clear for me from the beginning that this badge shared many features with the hollow Juncker we already so rarely encounter.

With the following thread I would like to prove that these badges are 100% wartime, and even better, the earliest form of the higher grades ever produced by Juncker.

First of all, the whole design completely matches the hollow Juncker GAB75/100. The details are all there and imo even better. The numbered box is a 100% match next to all the 75/100 pieces produced by Juncker.

The reverse of course is so much more interesting. Let's start with the set up. A typical Juncker barrelhinge, featuring the horizontal stripe pattern we see on all Juncker badges. A flatwire catch, found on the earlier numbered badges, later ones were fitted a wirecatch. The way the catch was bent and cut off also wouldn't leave me any doubt.
Then there is the pin, the long tool mark can be again found on all of its later brothers and sisters. The toolmarks on the end of the pin are identical to the ones we found on Juncker luftwaffe badges. The cut off hingeplate can be found on the zink Juncker army flaks.

Then there are the rivets. No alluminium ones of this one, but typical tombak Juncker rivets often found on the luftwaffe badges but also on the early PAB75/100 without the piercing through rivets. This again makes perfect sence in the timeline!!

And then of course so typical for Juncker are the file marks all over the piece.

    It's getting late, I hope I haven't forgotten anything.

Hope you all like this piece of candy

          Hi Giel,

I have to say that I agree with everything you say, it looks EXACTLY like what I would expect a Juncker product to look like. Nice rivets, nice hardware, nice pin and nice file marks, all typical Juncker. Even the way the finish is bubbling reminds of Juncker CCCs, I would have snapped this one up in a heartbeat as well. The best part is that the finish is almost completely intact, what a great addition!

I would really love to hear the arguements AGAINST this badge......

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

But you had guts buying her - that I gotta say! Takes a sure man to spend that kinda cash on a non-textbook (until now) badge.
