    what can the experts say about this one?

    Hello,

    Looks original to me. Interesting, it may actually be one of the so-called "missing log" variety before the log (or top portion of the "9") went missing.

    Post it over on the General Awards section for more comments.

            Just adding some reference shots for you to compare if the thread stops here.

            Here's one of mine; note the missing log on the right hand side. What you want to compare is the shapes and varying sizes on the logs; the date numbers and the swastika for starters. Other points will become obvious as well.

              I believe this shot was actually Peter's but sure he won't mind posting it here. Note the different die flaws on these.

                    That's a great comparison showing the different stages this shield started to degrade but not my pic Tim.
