    FO IAB on estand

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...25#post3161325

What are your thoughts regarding this badge? The pin and hinge look replaced, the catch has that hero look, and the whole thing looks chemically aged to me. I don't like this badge one single bit.

You really think you can determine that by those pics? I could care less if you wnat to spoil the sale, there is nothing replaced on the badge and it is good humor for this maiden voyage estand sale. knock your self out, I will glady post more pictures when able.

Well then ask yourself if someone could really buy a piece by those pictures?

It was not my intention to spoil your thread, I didn't even mention it in your for sale add, like many others would do. I thought it was interesting to discuss this badge.

Some more pictures would be nice, and a more positive spirit as well.

Come on this is a discussion forum!
      Kind regards,
      Giel

If someone knows IABs I think they could yes , hence the sale post.

No problem as said before I will see what comes back on the pics when I can post them.

Its such a crappy badge in the first place, the only thing going for it is the mark fo, of course now its based on the vetting.

I would also see much better pictures.
it looks like there is a small hole (pic 2 bajonet reverse) in the badge and I agree with the pictures, these are crappy.
Maybe too crappy to put them on the salestread. If we all post these crappy pictures we can all sell fakes as being original...

                      Hi Giel,

to be honest, I looked through the files immediately after I saw the piece. I looked at this example:

                      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ghlight=fo+iab

thought it must be good then. When I look at both examples now, I donĀ“t like either one of them.

                      Regards,

                      Daniel

I had the same thoughts Giel, but probably due to the really crappy pics.

Sammler, the reason for the concern is that there are VERY well made fakes coming out of Germany and there is a very good one of an FO fake. Even guys that "know" IABs can be caught by these fakes thanks to poor pictures. Vetting a badge in the discussion forum first saves YOU and the seller alot of headache from returning badges and sending them back and forth. Your immediate reaction and post in response to a simple question about your crappy pics casts suspicion on your badge. Posting good, well lit pictures or scans can only help your sale. If you have nothing to hide, good pictures will sell the badge for you.

                        Tom
If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

                          Thanks Tom and Giel,

I really just thought this funny over this badge, I joined the association only recently after a long time reading the forum , so there is nothing mysterious or devious about this badge I can discern. The example in the excellent IAB book by S Weber on page 42 fits the bill for this one well IMO.

I will post the images with some different light and background, but the camera doesnt seem to zoom close enough.
