Well its time to chuck something in the bin and its not this piece just checked it with my grandads 1950s calipers and guess what height come back as 59.5MM width as bang on 50MM which i believe would be about spot on

im just trying to fish out the dimensions of a bronze type of the same maker / same badge

Sounds more like it to me. I hope you are not designing aircraft parts etc... with those calipers.

Hi Don i thought these measurements looked much more like it, I cant believe the calipers are that out, I bought them so i wouldnt damage my grandfathers as these were given to me by him, The Chinese ones are now in the sheffield trash system Many thanks for all your assistance on this one
