So.....from the logo....family name is biger than first name......right?

    Comment

More likely that Peter is a son or other relative that has inherited the business from Adolf, given the time that has past, the new PS logo does seem just on the face of it to have been heavily influenced by the AS logo.

I Don't think so Colin. It's P. "SEIDEL", so where does that leave Scholze or Schwerdt . All very confusing

Not sure what your saying Philippe, both names Adolf and Peter have the surname SEIDEL, unless you are saying that PETER is the surname of the still existing Company?

That Peter Seidel logo is a straight adaptation of the AS logo IMO, I don't know where that leaves the other companies, but at least with Seidel there is an adapted logo, the others as far as I know were probably associated with this mark purely because the initials fitted? I don't know.

              Good Morning guys,
Philippe, it is a totally new concept. Let's forget about Schozle or Schwerdt. "SEIDEL" company mark looks now too familiar to ignore it. The only problem is, company name today is: PETER SEIDEL. We know that during the war in "Gablonz" was ADOLF SEIDEL company (another AS if you want). But in Gablonz Association today Adolf Seidel company is not present. However Peter Seidel is there. When i was checking them i discovered their company logo (exchange "P" to "A" and you have perfect match!).
              Ps. M9/293 Adolf Seidel Gablonz.

Yes Philippe, RZM M9/293 for daybadges.

We have to be careful too, because sometimes their appears to be 2 seperate family names on the list e.g. Rudolf Tham and August G. Tham ( A.G.Tham Kreissieger badges) both Gablonz, but there is only Adolf Seidel, no Peter.

Ok lets see if I can follow again

So what we are saying is the AS in triangle wasn't A. Scholze nor was it A. Schwerdt but A. Seidel.

                  Am I following again?

                    Yes Philippe,
That is the new theory...based on the SEIDEL company logo...

Anything is possible. If PS is the successor company of AS then there will be a recoed of it somewhere.

Well Since we have the e-mail adress of the P. Seidel, it's maybe worthwhile to send them a diplomatic e-mail with pics of both the AS in triangle logo and the KM in triangle logo to see if either of these logos ring a bell. If we stick to the logos as such it's maybe possible to formulate the question in such a way that we don't have to refer to TR activities.

Maybe some of our German members are willing to help us in formulating this in the correct way.

Good idea Philippe. If we keep it as a trade mark project and not a TR badge thing we might just get an answer.

Unfortunately Philippe i don't have their email address. Only phone and fax numbers and their web page address, but this page was set by the Association (http://www.seidel-peter-gmbH.de). So the best way will be to call them i guess...but then someone should pass over the secretary and go after someone who knows the company history....

Ps. On the other hand i have already contacted Adolf Scholze company (under the cover of working on "Gablonz companies maker marks directory"). Still waiting for their answer...

On Second thoughts maybe the WAF could sponsor a two weeks study trip to the Gablonz area. Just imagin what a wealth of information is still out their to be discovered if only you were able to get in to contact with some friendly people willing to help you out.

                                Philippe,
Beauty of this is, you don't have to talk to any of this companies. I would just go after "the public records" (from library or court houses)...
