I am a new member and hope I am doing this right. I would like to corespond with someone that can help me with what is likly to be a russian Front medal made in Spain for Blue Division veterans. This came in a set from Barcelona and has the Spainish Civil War medal and a Spainish African medal and the Russian Front medal all with the typical Spainish attechments at the top. Other items that came with the medals are four metal badges, a Spainish hat eagle with the crown, a oval with a machine gun in the center, a oval badge with a morter round in the center and a 60 x 50 mm sew on metal badge with a Skull at the top and crossed bones in the center and a artillery piece at the bottom. One patch came with this set and that is the German Spinish volunteers insignia made of a yellow matreial with the red stripes and black outline painted on.
The Russian Front medal is made better than any German one that I have seen. The ring at the top is oval and suddered on. The medal itself in of a better quality . The black in the center is a thick paint (almost gloss) the same as the black on the Spainish Civil War medal. The ribbon is also a better quality almost a watered silk type.
My questions are is there any written information on this medal and what to value it at???? Also are there any other counties that made German medals for Volunteers????
Thank you
Jim
