Thought I would show this unusual example which is referenced in Andrei's thread but only in bronze grade- apparently one example only has been identified as battlefield found of this type.

Here is a gold grade example of the 100 marked type without rope

Hi Patrick,

Looks to be in nice condition but the medal seems to me like a bronze one rather than gold. Perhaps a bronze medal that was mated with a ribbon for the gold second class? It also appears that the brooch pin was resewn on the one side with blue thread.

It was still sold as a gold.
