    SA Wehrabzeichen question?

On a SA Military Sports Badge 3rd Class I have there is not that much detail around the dagger. On the medal I have seen in a book you can see much more detail. I don’t know which class the medal in the book is. I post some pictures so you can see what I mean. Does anyone know if this is normal?
    Thanks,
    Pascal

        Dear Pascal,

That is fine. I have three SA sports badges, each from a different maker and each has a different sword hilt, two of them close to yours. However I do not have one of exactly your maker and I haven´t seen your maker too often. Even if it is not an outrageously rare and exciting badge, yours is a good one and a keeper.

        Cheers, Frank H.

            My Petz u Lorenz

            Hello Pascal,
My Gold Class Petz u Lorenz SA Sport Badge has the same undetailed sword as yours - This is perfectly fine for this maker, and yes, this is a rarely encountered maker for this badge!
            Nice find on this one!

I recently purchased one of these badges , and received it today. Unfortunately, there was a white sticker covering the swastika, no doubt placed there to comply with legislation in Germany. However, when I tried to remove it it left some paper on the swastika, I tried to gently with only warm water and a soft cloth remove this, htis was reasonably successful. Now all that remains is a sticky residue. Does anyone have any advice on how to reomove this without damaging the item. It seems such a shame because aside from the residue the piece is in great condition. Your thoughts are appreciated.

                    Hello Richarddwh,
Turpentine you use while painting the house will do fine.
Put a few drops of turpentine on a piece of toiletpaper and gently rub the glue off, then wash the badge with water and some fluid soap to remove the turpentine.
                    It works just fine,

                    Jos.

Yes I have two bronze 2nd issue 1935/38 3rd class one has a hilt like yours maker E. SCHNEIDER the other like the one from the book maker FECHLER. So like everyone else here has already said it just depends on the maufactuer as to hilt design andone is slightly more vaulted then the other.
                        1st issue dates 1934/1935 "Eigentum d. Chefs d. Ausbildungswesens".
                        2nd issue dates 1935/1938 "Eigentum d. S.A. Sportsabzeichen-
                        Hauptselle".
3rd issue dates 1938 to end of war "Eigentum der Obersten S.A.
Führung". each set of issue badges had three class's bronze, silver and glit.
