8 year SS service medal

In 2002 I bought from ebay a three place medal bar . It consisted of an imperial EKII , Hindenburg cross and an 8 year SS long service medal . It came with a nice document in German signed from Thomas Hoff of Historishes Militaria Archiv.
Having read lots about Third Reich fakes over the years and also heard this gentleman name mention in not such a good light I assume the best course of action would be to tear off the EKII and war cross and bin the rest ? It says I can't post images on this site ?, not sure why .

You can post images simply being a forum member.
If you pay 25$ per year you'll can upload all the pictures you want and have access to the database and other sections of the forum.

Haha JC I'll hold off for a bit then . I think I have posted some images of it below . On the document supposedly varifying its authenticity there are some weights and measurements listed . I had a quick check with my verniers and although they are close to the sizes they don't seem exact . I know it's never the best to just see a picture , but any thoughts ?

Unfortunately you were right to be concerned...the SS medal is indeed a postwar example.
I can't see enough of the rest of the bar, but chances are it is ok...someone has just swapped an original, other type of long service award (possibly a Civil award) for this relatively well made fake in order to deceive the prospective buyer.

Thanks for having a look JC ! Yeah I'm not very shocked to be honest . I picked it up about 16 years ago if I remember right . ..before I lost all faith in humanity ...or at least ebay
