    At last a DAK medal

Just sharing my new find. A bonus for me is the sun faded ribbon. It was pinned on a uniform once.

Who/what are those figures on that medal and what are they doing with what appears to be a Nile crocodile?? i did not know such a medal existed. It is very nice indeed!

              Hello,

The medal was designed to depict the Italo-German alliance via two gladiators. One gladiator represents Italy and the other Germany and they are doing battle with a crocodile, which represents the British. The mutual cooperation between Italy and Germany is also depicted on the reverse of the medal by including both the Italian fasces (on the left) and the German swastika (on the right).

              Best regards,
              Tom

Now that's the way to photograph it with the evenly worn out background of it's natural habitat.

Nice medal but the ribbon isn't sun-faded. That's how most original DAK ribbons look
