Was there a difference in the size of the ribbon bars that came with a medal then the ones (two or more) that were worn on a tunic? Also, were the ribbon bars ever stacked (like U.S. & Soviet awards) or were they always worn on a single bar?

Hi,
normally a German decoration was not issued with a ribbon bar. They had to buy the ribbon bars at outfitters.
The standart size for ribbon bars in the 3rd reich were the 25mm and the 15mm wide ribbons. Which one they choosed it depends on their taste. I have 2-place bars made from 15mm ribbons and I have a 14-place ribbon bar made from 25mm ribbons in 3 rows.
