    Romanian Crusade against Communism medal for review

    hello forum I have been offered this Romanian Crusade against Communism medal and wanted to get it check out on here

    is it period correct ww2 ? and what is its value

    Hello Ben,

    The medal and ribbon look nice and it is IMO an original WW2 Period piece. The preliminary document is nice too. The document is signed by Rittmeister der Reserve Josef Krömer as Kommandeur der Divisions-Nachschubtruppen 94. You should note, though, that the document awards both the Medal for the Crusade against Communism and the 'Caucasus' Clasp, which would have been attached to the ribbon of the medal.

      Original Romanian-made '1st Type' medal ... the later German & Austrian-made '2nd Type' lacks the designer's name (P. Grant).

      Here's mine ..



      The inscription means 'Grateful Romania'.
