    New Kurland fake...?

I have never seen this one before; in style like the Afrika and Kreta Cufftitles, but with printed instead of embroidered letters etc. As research tells us that all(?) Kurland cufftitles were woven in linen, including the design, and never being as long as the standard issue Ärmelband, this is an interesting curiosity - as a fake... But to the new collector, without this experience, it sure looks old enough, and it does bear similiarities with other issued cufftitles. Thoughts anyone? Seen it before?

HOWEVER.... some of you may remember ages ago when Wlad had about 50 of these titles, 40 were the regular ones, then about 10 Field made ones of all shapes and sizes.
If I remember correctly they were all sewn on a Blanket belonging to a Russian POW guardg.

There is a well known wartime photo of Toni Müller wearing a printed Kurland cuffband that looks just like this. Whether this actual example is right or not, the type is valid for wartime originals.

I have been under the impression for may years that, while the embroidered version of the Kurland cuff title is the most well known, it was by no menas the only form the cuff title took. I am not commenting on this particular example in the thread, but it is my understanding that the cuff titles were made in the Kurland pocket in embroidered fashion, and others were printed, both in the pocket and in Germany.

Gordon, if you could refer me to a source containing the photo you referenced, I'd appreciate it. I'm not sure that I've seen that photo.

This is indeed interesting...! So there may be originals looking like the example in the picture...? Gordon, could you please give me the link to the Müller photo as well?
            Closely following the development...
