    Memel to ID

What do you think about this Memel Medal? Is there a chance that it is original?

    Best regards

Im not a Memeland medal guy, but I clearly see traces of casting.

I agree. Weak detail and visible flaws of casting. This one is not original, IMO.

          pitted

The center of the obverse once enlarged shows a lot of pitting and overlap leading to questionable verifyability and henceforth doubt.

You've been looking in the dictionary again.

I agree with the guys, this is the so called "Deust" fake, because it is a copy made using the Memel Deumer (front) and Steinhauer & Luck (back).
You can find this fake alone, trifold mounted, or mounted on fake medal bars.
Usually the eyelet is larger than normal, ugly soldered, the surface of the back side shows flaws of casting and you can find on the "thick" of the medal saw signs.

              My books:

              - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
              - THE SS TK RING
              - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
              - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
              - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

              and more!
