    Ostmedal - mm 110

    Hi guys,

i have had this Ostmedaille for a while now but never shared it so hope you enjoy and perhaps can clarify a few things.
As most examples by Otto Zappe it is in great condition, can you tell what wether its tombak?

It came with a packet made by Carl Poellath in Schrobenhausen, can this be considered "correct"?

    Kind regards, Olivier.

    Hello Olivier,

I would think that, judging from the tiny "bubbles," this is a zinc example, but with outstanding finish.

    Best,

      Olivers Ostmedal.

Wow, that's a great looking Ostmedal Zinker with some tremendous finish left. Certainly a Centerpiece in an Eastern Front display. Nice

Were you to view posts dealings with this makers Ostfront Medals you would find that for the most part they have all retained their finsih quite well.

                Hello Olivier,

The Carl Poellath packet would not be correct for a medal made by Otto Zappe. Poellath was in Bavaria and Zappe was in Czechoslovakia, so I doubt they were working with one another. No problem keeping them together, though, if they came to you that way. Maybe someday you will find a Zappe packet or a Poellath-made medal.

                Best regards,
                Tom

Appreciate the info on the packet Tom, i had read it was possible to have "mismatched yet correct" sets so thanks for clearing that out for mine ( and Antonio for confirming and attaching the pics ).

                    Kind regards, Olivier.
