    Xmas plates

Wondering if anyone has any experience with this particular item. Came across one with exactly the same makers mark. From what I know, the plates were supposedly sent to soldiers as presents. For one, is this true? Secondly does this one look authentic? Value?

    Thanks,
    Tony

IMO this is an original piece. Don't know if sent as gift or not, maybe a private purchase. The value I suppose it can be around the 80-100, but I'm not sure because I don't collect this kind of items.

      My books:

      - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
      - THE SS TK RING
      - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
      - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
      - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

      and more!

Antonio - thanks for your input on this item. You maybe right from the private purchase aspect, seems more reasonable to me.

I am sure you looked it up but the interpretation across the front is "WAR CHRISTMAS"

I do not know about the authenticity but it is a nice item!

          Thank you, Scott

Thank you for showing this piece-

My humble input on this item is that as the war progressed, the
'Kriegsweihnachten' pieces, as the Ernteplatte(one of which I acquired, dated also 1943, thanks to the Estand), became more poignant to the rank and file
of TR. It became a potent Heimat symbol. Many units--such as the Norwegian Legion WSS, the Spielhahn Jaegerdivision, usw--issued their own postcards.
I think both the wood and plate versions were part of the Volks output, and
were both civil and militar available. Some show unit-specific designs, others,
like mine, show a Volks war effort contribution.

              Enzian,

My thoughts are trending towards what you are thinking, in that they were available to both civil and military purchases. Thanks for your comments and wouldn't mind if you posted your plate.

Attached is another plate with the same markers mark.
