What is this medal

Found it at flea market for 10.00

The medallion is 2 5/8 inches in diameter.

Its to do with the Technical High School of Dresden and the reverse reads

'Thanks to the noble male workers earning honorable wage '

I believe it is a badge of office for non teaching positions in the school.

Gentlemen,

"Technische Hochschule Dresden" used to be a very well recognised

university in Germany for technical studies.

The "award" - worn around the neck - leads to an outstanding staff

member as a recipient.
