Hello to all,
I was in Gettysburg, Pa. for the last few days and returned home today with this little piece of Third Reich Militaria. This is the only deal I was able to find there. There was actually quite a bit of German Militaria to be found, but most everything was insanely over-priced. Also saw an abundance of fakes. Three fake Herman Aurich Panzer Badges, AWS Panzer Badge fake with a fake issue envelope, S.H.u.Co. Coastal Artillery Badge fake with a fake issue envelope plus many others. Almost bought an original Rudolf Souval Blockade Runner Badge, but it was a little too much for my taste.
This Eastern Volunteer Decoration is in nice condition, and it has retained it's gold finish well. There is just a little bit of wear to the high points on the obverse. There is slight bubbling to the obverse, and a little bit more so on the reverse. It is interesting in that the catch plate is square, and is soldered into a circular recess.
Best regards! Tom
