    Ribbon Bar Help!

    Hello,

I picked up a bunch of ribbon bars in Meissen in early April. This one has me stumped. Can you help identify the last three, and secondly, the non felt back is interesting, only one i have like this.

    Thanks!

    #2
    3) Saxon General Decoration Honor Cross, without swords for non-combatant military service in WW1 presumably-- as the Noncombatant Hindenburg Cross (2) indicates.

    4) Good luck! This one never had a device, which means it could be one of SIX Prussian long service awards (unlikely from #3) or Third Reich: Polizei 8, RAD 4, or SS-Vt/TK 8 or 4. None of these seem particularly likely-- what would be far more normal would be a civil service Treudienst Cross with a 25 or 40 years mini cross device.

    5) Luftschutz Medal for civil defense.

The metal tab backs are quite common on nickled steel from the late 1920s on.

    See

sections on WW2 period bars and construction etc.
