    HI,

A complete fake, in my opinion. (devices, ribbons etc are all bad)

I think to be fair, this is a reproduction rather than a true fake. There is a dealer of repro Third Reich awards selling these online with exactly the same box. If someone is trying to pass them off as originals I don't think he is in with much of a chance.

Call it what you want: reproduction; copy; replica; fake; or piece-o-crap, it's all the same to me. I do understand that there are dealers that sell these kinds of things as "reproductions" and for a legitimate sales market i.e., reenactors and for people that do not want to spend the money to buy originals and are content with a copy. But this stuff gets bought up and, sooner or later, it gets passed off as original. And I can see that happening quite easily with a piece like this. This is just the kind of thing that will awe the unsuspecting or the trusting novice collector. They will see all these devices, all the markings on the box, and that assembler label on the back and figure that this has to be real. Eventually, they will realize that they have been duped and paid a lot of cash for a worthless piece-o-crap. Now this new collector quits the hobby out of total frustration. And if enough of the young collectors leave this hobby, who will be left to buy our collections when we are ready to sell? Make no mistake about it: stuff like this hurts our hobby in the long run. I also have to view this item as something made to deceive: Somebody went to a lot of trouble to create all these markings, devices, label, etc. Why is it not clearly marked "reproduction" on the inside of the box somewhere and on the back of the ribbon bar?

                    Best regards,
                    Tom

The quality of the minis is just terrible... Anyone who has ever had an original mini westwall in his hands will laugh at this piece...not to mention the 100 other bad signs...

That's true! The supposed "wreath" around the Westwall looks more like rope than oakleaves.
