          Yes, it´s. I had not seen this prusian Red Cross medal in a medal bar before, and as some of the words in the text didn´t look written in german ("Fuer", "Rothe") I was wondering if maybe from other country with a language very similar to the german.

              Since we are talking about this medal, what does the W R A V stand for?

              I have read somewhere that letters stands for "Wilhelm II, Emperor of Germany, King of Prussia", but i just cant fit that in there.

              Or is it Wilhelm and his Wife?

              W= Wilhelm R=?
              A= Augusta V= Victoria

                Maybe some of the Imperial experts can confirm?

                    No not overly expensive. It depends too on what it is made from.
                    Is yours iron or zinc? I have a feeling zinc from the photos.

                        Hi Greg,

                        According to the 2010 Nimmergut price guide:

                        Iron: €35
                        Zinc: €25

                        Best regards

                            Yes, these are quite affordable. But given that yours is on a medal bar you may be able to get a little more.

                              Hello Peter,

                              I'm not sure if anyone really knows the meaning of these letters. Several references mention that it does mean, "Wilhelm II, Emperor of Germany, King of Prussia," but without further clarification of what each letter stands for. I always thought it was some kind of Latin phrase such as (and I'm purely guessing here) Wilhelm Rex Anno Volente. I do believe that the 'R' is for Rex (King), but I am still uncertain about the 'A' and the 'R'. You could be quite correct that they are simply the initials of the Empress Augusta Victoria. That seems to make sense to me.

                              Best regards,
                              Tom
