    Double ribbon bar band...possible?

Just got a double ribbon bar band for EK2 and Ostfront medal, they are made together. Is that possible? No glow under UV-light and very well made. Got approx 10 meter. thanks!!

Surely possible and known to exist!

Here's an example of 2 other ribbons made together-
      KVK & Ost
      EK2/1914-18

You'll find they did this with several of the most common awards that appear together.

Here's a WWI era example of the same type of ribbon:

Doubles are quite common from both wars.

I have even seen 1939 EK, 1939 KVK, and 1941/42 East Medal woven as a single triple.

These were labor saving when the "same old same old" ribbons were needed by the hundreds at any particular dealer in short periods of time.

For WW2, I have also seen one piece:

          Long Service and Sudeten

          EK2 and East Medal

          KVK2 and East Medal

While we're on the subject... What about triples? There were a recent batch of bogus ribbon bars discussed around here that had some triple ribbons intended for lapel rolls worked into them, but has anyone seen this same thing on legit ribbon bars?

For what it's worth, this one is proportioned very nearly the same as the Saxon combo referred to earlier in this thread:

                  You should clarify....

.... that the ribbons themselves are good, there are genuine examples (RE: authentic examples) and the debate was not over authenticity of the ribbon itself, but rather in the context that it was used.
I own a 3X in one piece that IMO is authentic. It was part of my St. Henry Collection and purchased well over a year before spurious examples of the same ribbon started showing up in the faker's repetoir.

So, simply having a ribbon of this type should not be an automatic thumbs-down, IMO.

However, there are loads of original, old stock floating about with 2 and 3 award ribbons woven into a single piece....... so certainly caution should be used. The examples I've seen were silk and non UV-reactive.

It wasn't my intention to dismiss the whole idea of triple combos, but to find out if there were any legit examples.

Yes. EK2 1939, KVK2 (X) 1939, 1941/42 East Medal. OFTEN seen, since that is the most common trio of WW2. But since that is the wrong war for me, I no longer happen to have one.

                        Erich,

Is this just an illusion or is the three ribbon combo sitting on one regular sized ribbon bar element only?
                        Cheers, Frank

I can't help but wonder if that isn't another ribbon intended for a lapel roll that was pressed into service as a ribbon bar ribbon.
