    close combat clasp

    Hello All,

Detlev niemann has one of the collector beware badges on his web site, which he says is a fake, and as you know puts the original next to the fake badge and you can spot the difference, well this week he is showing the Bronze CC Clasp but i just cannot see the comparison from the fake and the Genuine.

Can anyone tell me by looking at the pictures what stands out to distinguish the fake from the original.

I wish I could get to the Detlev-Niemann website. Does anyone else have problems getting this site to load?

      Hi Market Garden,

Detlev's site is usually down, or hard to get into around the time he is updating (Friday's 2:00pm Hamburg time)

... Or it may be the link you have , try this, I just checked it and got in OK.

      Regards,
      Tim

        CCC AGMuK !

        Hallo !
Look at the way the hinge and catch are "soldered" to the clasp on the copy . You will see the differens . They are not looking as the original . I have 2 x AGMuK Close Combat Clasp in bronze in my collection .

There seems to me to be lots of different ways these clasps are put together, i just cannot see how a copy/fake can be sorted out to say this is a fake and this one is a copy, it seems to me that a maker of any of these badge does not always manufature them in exactly the same way all the time.
I have a CCclasp by the maker AGMuk and going by past threads on here about this particular badge there is different ways in which this maker manufatured them.
Unless you have an Original/Genuine badge of all the various badges of each of the manufatueres and all the different ways in which these makers put them together, to me seems, well near impossible.

It may be a good thing or it may be a bad thing, but are we all getting a bit paranoid with this Fake thing we see in every Badge/Decoration/Medal we buy or are interested in.
