Stijn David and I worked together to bring you a common but interesting badge which at long last has been included in the main site. Check it out!

Never really thought about these much, but interesting article. So the ones that were described as iron, are these magnetic?

How did one get from bronze to silver, then gold?

You would think that even after a few years of collecting, one should never assume anything.
This article is the proof of this (to me at least).I had assumed that these were "mere"qualification badges.
Thanks for the heads up Seba and Stijn.

Both my silver and bronze are magnetic (they are the ones pictures in the article).

About the qualification, your question sent me to four reference books and all I could get was "for longer service". How long? I don't know. Anyone else know?

            drivers badge

            Hello,

Thanks for reading it, also al three of my examples are magnetic .

to receieve a higher class one has to distinguish himself once again => lets say from bronze towards silver , this means a person has doubled his performances in time .

for example : a motordriver dispatcher

=> to get the bronze award : needed to qualify = 90 days of service.

=> silver award : he needed 180 days of qualification

=> gold award : this person needed 270 days qualification

this example is only to apply on the motordriver dispatchers, in the article there are also other services mentioned.

            Happy reading,
my collectionfield : German glider pilots

MOST of them are magnetic, but there are also genuine examples made of nonmagnetic metal.
