18 year service medal questions

Need some opinions, I've had this one for some time, 20 plus years. The medal and ring are non-magnetic yet are that of a hard metal. Are there known fakes of this medal and if so what would be their tell tale signs. Was this issued only to Heer or was it also issued to the Luftwaffe?

Can't say for sure if it's good or not.

The one I have is magnetic. The detail is quite worn on yours.

Could be cast.

If I saw this on a site I would not buy it.

Luft & Heer come with eagles attached to the ribbon in most cases.

Navy usually has the heer eagle.

Do some queries on the site & you will see what I mean.

Current value for one in really good shape. I would think probably around 180
to 200 Euros.

I agree, it could be cast.....I get that feeling too....let´s wait and see what others have to say.

For me the metal looks off......the patina "feels" wrong, but sometimes the pictures "lie" depending on light conditions etc..

There were non-magnetic examples made from tombak. I own a tombak one on a medal bar but it is not as tarnished looking as the one pictured above.

Can you get a picture of the rims inbetween the arms and of the jump ring?

There are better examples about...i have one here if interested.
