    Ribbon ID: Non-Combatant Ehrenkreuz, Baltenkreuz, & ??

    Any guesses what the ribbon in last place might be? (I know the photo's upside down - I'm referring to the one that isn't a Hindenburg Cross or a Baltic Cross.)

    Fire Department Merit Cross of 1936+ -- the one with the boldly enamelled flames on white arms, with black swastika in the center.

      I can't imagine that the non-combatant / freikorps combinations are all that common. Any guesses as to what sort of soldier this might have been?

        No, that is actually quite common... many a young soldier who "missed" the war decided to Seek Adventure in the Freikorps. The older veterans had often had quite enough (understandably) and wanted to get HOME.

          That makes sense... I wasn't thinking about the non-combatant's ribbon for soldiers that didn't actually make it to the frontlines.
