    Ribbon rules

    Hi all,

A question about the rules of ribbons and ribbon bars.

If an officer has the EK2 1939, was he allowe to wear the ribbon on the button of his tunic AND also as a ribbon bar?

    Thanks & bye.

I don't think regulations allowed this...but it was done I am sure. It definately happened with the 1939 EK2 Spange.

      Kind regards

        Hi,

You were only supposed to wear one or the other (button hole ribbon or ribbon bar), but, as mentioned, you often see this regulation violated.

This violation is most often seen in pictures of high ranking WWI vets who were recipients of the 14EK2 with spange - you see them wearing the button hole ribbon with spange and ribbon bar with spange.
