Gerbirgsjager Edelweiss stickpin! Fake Or genuine?

I need help to determine if this Edelweiss stickpin is genuine or a reproduction?!

I have not seen one before, but I'll hazard and guess and say its good. My opinion is based on the nice detail and construction. I hope you get some more educated opinions tho.

looks like a souvenier pin to me- don't think its any military issue of any type- quality is lacking in the strike

According to the seller its a WWII Issue from the Hochland region, and worn on Gerbirgsjaeger caps and such.

It's not a gebirgsjäger edelweiss, nor is it an SA Hochland edelweiss. At the very most it's a lapel pin to be worn with civilian clothes but it's not military issue.

Here is a linc to a site of HJ and JV. There is a photo of the same type of Edelweiss stickpin and its from the Hochland district and Deutsch-Oesterreich. According to the brief text the stickpin were used by HJ and JV in the region. Is has nothing to with Gerbirgsjager as you stated.
