Maybe cast and 'gilted' (painted!?) to cover up casting pits... And the ring mount looks too 'fat' - is this one of those polish-made fakes? Cheers!

If cast, it´s a fake
The ring mount as you said is very fat. I´ve seen one like this never, but the so called "polish-fake" haven´t this kind of fault.
The golden laquer looks very unnatural.
