Hi,
Looking through my collection of wound badges I have found anomaly between my badge and what is stated in 2 reference books.
The anomaly is the markers mark, my wound badge is marked L54 which is found on the bottom left of the helmet on the reverse side.
When looking through my reference books , J.R. Angolia and Chris Ailsby, both show that L54 has no Manufacturers Name.
However, Chris Ailsby's book goes further and lists Multiple LDO numbers in which he states there was a L/54 firm Schauerte & Hohfeld Ludenscheid.
Is L54 a recognised manufacturer of Wound badges, does anybody else have this hallmark on their wound badges? The same question for L/54.
Regards,
