Did Eduard Dietl ever recieve the Eastern Front Medal? Wikipedia claims he did, but provides no citation for it.

Put it like this, his army qualified for it, or at least those units at or close to the front did. Dietl spent a lot of time within the area that qualified for the award even though i'm a little unsure his army headquarters at Rovaniemi was within the border set for the award, so i'd say he should certainly have received it.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Here are some with their jobs during the winter of 41\42
Ferdinand Schörner, Kdr. 6 Geb.Div. and from Jan.42 Kdr. Geb.Korps Norwegen, taking over from Dietl
Hermann Hölter, Ia XXXVI Geb Korps
Ferdinand Jodl, Chef des generalstab Armee Lappland (and if he got it then Dietl did) the date of his award is 01.08.1942 so likely the same as Dietls
Karl Weisenberger, Kdr. XXXVI Gebirgs Korps
Erwin Engelbrecht, Kdr. 163 Inf.Div.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Dietl rarely wore his ribbon bar and he seems never to have worn ribbons in his buttonhole, finding a photo of him post-1942 wearing his ribbon bar seems to be difficult.
The best I can find at the moment is a very bad picture of his awards pillow, one of those round medal could well be an ostmedaille
I've also added the ostmedaille award doc of Generalarzt Rudolf Lipf who was chief medical officer of Gebirgskorps Norwegen during the time.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.
