A little late but I will second Nigels opinion on this medal, a keeper.

                I like this medal.
Don't have one in my collection yet but it won't be long.
I think that they come in different metals. Zinc and bronze for starters.
                Anyone offer any others?

I certainly like them too Wayne. It makes a nice counterpart to my Grandfathers Africa Star.

Well, "bytown" Wayne...since you asked, here are a couple more from my collection...also in Bytown!

Both are later bronze-plated zinc or pot metal variants. Both bear the designer's name "De Marchis" on the obverse just beneath the crocodile. As well, both bear the maker's mark "Lorioli Milano" - positioned on one above the left, and on the other above the right leg of the crocodile (correct in both cases, according to Angolia's reference book).

                        Regards,
                        John
