    why would a german badge have "westwall" in english written on it??????

      Thats a good question !!Have no idea ??dug it out myself in a german bunker in saldus area of kurland so know its not a fake !! just trying to find some info on it.

            sounds unlikley to seed ground in the middle of nowhere with small badges ??
            to what ends ?? its not of any real value ??
            any how will keep trying to find out what it is

              Can you post a picture of the rear of the badge?

              Also was the site where you found the badge previously excavated?

                        i think you guys should learn the german language before putting comments here. West wall, schutzwall and so on are fully possible to write in german and in English.

                            It's clear as mud to me! DO WHAT???? I have a pretty good grasp of the English language and I'm confused by that! Why in the hell would German's make a badge/pin/medal in the 1930's, in Germany, or very close to there, and have them made not in their native language?

                              The badge at the top, as well as the others are original German items.
                              The point being made is "Westwall" as well as "Westfront" are normal i.e. acceptable in both English and German language.
