    Unissued marksmanship lanyard

Here is a lanyard I just received in the mail today. It is still in its orignal wrapping. I wasn't completely sure of the exact grade of the lanyard until it was in my hands. The pics on the dealers site were not the greatest and didn't show the shield area.

The acorns. I knew it was going to be a grade 3 or grade 7.

Close-up of the shield. This will kind of give it away, although I couldn't tell exactly what it was from the dealers pics.

A peek under the wrapping gives it away as a type 1 grade 3 lanyard.

And what surprised me the most was the makers mark on the back of the lanyard. This is a marking I have not encountered before. Has anyone seen this marking before???

Just for comparisons, these are some other maker marks I have on other lanyards in my collection. I'm not sure of this marking.

                  Dear Todd,

A wonderful lanyard...now I can ask the same of you...where do you get such great pieces?!

My son recently started collecting lanyards and purchased 3 at the last SOS, including a 9th grade Panzer lanyard in mint condition. I will have to post pictures of it.

Not sure if you were aware but there is a new book being written on the marksmanship lanyards and TDBs. I am sure the authors would love to picture the one in the wax paper.
