Most Well-Faked Award Out There?

This is just something I've been curious about for some time:

What is the most well-faked Third Reich Award/Medal out there? In other words, if there's one thing that is faked so well at this point, as to make authentication a puzzle for even the most seasoned collectors, what would that be, in your opinion?

Specifically, I'll be looking for a nice authentic German Cross in Gold at the upcoming SOS. I have heard that these medals are being faked excessively well at this point. I've even been advised by a few that fakes of these are so good that one should just avoid those altogether without exceptional expertise. Maybe the German Cross is even the answer to my best-faked award question above.

So finally, what's your opinion about the quality of German Cross fakes, at this point? I've studied them as well as I can, using photos and info here, and whereever else I've been able to get it. However, with something that will cost well over $2,000.00 now, I really don't want to get burned.

If I had to pick the most faked award it would probably be the anti-partisan badge. It seems that more fakes of those are posted here than any other badge.

Fakes

Andy is certainly right on the APB. But as former Luftwaffe collector, it also seemed to me there were more fake Retired Pilot badges posted than any other. There must be millions out there.
