Dear Tallfruit,
This is the 1st class version of the Luftschultz Award. There were 2 classes, the round version is the 2nd class award. The 1st class award is quite rare. Unfortunately I am in no position, in terms of expertise in this area, to render an opinion of the posted piece.

Gary is correct that it is the First Class version of the Luftschutz. These are VERY rare so I would not get your hopes up with it being an original.

Number of awards
This medal was only awarded 150 times and the feature detail of the award pictured in the Nimmergut volume is much better. The ribbon looks wierd too.
Given the award statistics and the lack of detail I don't think it is good.Comment
