Stalingrad badge ?

I took this picture last August in Russia at the Stalingrad Battle museum in Volgograd. I wanted to know what this badge is. Was that on the shoulder boards or something like that? I really don't know what that is. It was really small.

You are correct. It is the shoulder strap insignia for Div HQ 44th Inf Div and 134 Grenadier Regt. Worn from Dec.1942. It is now widely faked (big suprise there then!). We have several threads on the forum about them.

I thought I would post some pictures of this pair of straps with the "Stalingrad Cross" devices for Soviet. Photos are on the small side, as I cannot find the disc with the larger originals, but you get the idea.

Please excuse the post war rank pips, when I bought the straps there were just the holes where the single pips had been. If anyone has a nice wartime pair with the frosted highlights that they would be willing to part with, I would be interested.
