Medal & Ribbon look spot on to me ...can't comment on the case.
Have you UV. tested the core of the bullion embroidery?

Many thanks for replying. The medal does look exactly as the two that have passed through my hands previously. Always good to get some second opinions though; especially with an item of this value.

The case? Well, I've had one before with an 8 year inside it. The case can be found on this forum and differs in quite a few ways. In my opinion, the case posted in this thread is a reproduction that somebody has attempted to age.

Oh and re. the ribbon, yes, I did UV test it - no reaction.

Toby,

The cross and ribbon are textbook. The case looks ok but the graining seems too pronounced.

Here's my cased cross which I bought from an old collection back in 1993. The catch is magnetic.
