    Ribbon bar in Action

    An older aged Austrian WWI veteran called up and serving in the Wehrmachts-Beamtertum.

    Does the embossed photographer's logo reveal where this was taken?

    What's interesting here on this Wehrkreis staff fellow is what is NOT being worn, as much as what is:


    although only a "Leutnant" level (love the Old Style "crusher" by the way... bizarre to see a Beamter wearing one and the headgear guys would like to see this too!), he must have worked himself up the civil service ladder-- and yet he has no 1938-43 Treudienstkreuz.

    No Austrian WW1 Commemorative Medal, either, nor the universally popular Hungarian ditto.

    And that last ribbon looks like it is the WW1 Turkish War Medal star!

      thanks for the reply. Here is a scan of the fotoatilier stamp. I think these stamps also tell one a bit about the image.

      The shot was taken in Wien, unfortunately no date - OR name.
